German Design Award honors Stiebel Eltron
Three products awarded for excellent design
The Stiebel Eltron SHP-I Plus hot water heat pump has received the highest possible “Gold” award from the German Design Award. Two other products from the Lower Saxony-based green tech manufacturer were named “Winners”: the HPA-O air source heat pump and the LWZ Premium integral ventilation unit.
The German Design Award honors innovative design developments and is one of the most recognized design awards worldwide. “We are particularly pleased that three products from our new hpnext generation of heat pumps have won the German Design Award,” says Detlef Neuhaus, Managing Director at Stiebel Eltron. "A simple, timeless design was just as important in the development of our new products as improved efficiency, the use of the environmentally friendly refrigerant R290, quiet operation and simple, intuitive installation for our partners in the trade. With the hpnext appliances, we are setting the bar very high in all categories."
This was also confirmed by the independent, international jury of experts. With its elegant design and innovative use of R290, the LWZ Premium integral ventilation unit, which combines the heating, cooling, domestic hot water and ventilation functions in a single device, sets “new standards in residential technology” and therefore deserves the Winner award in the “Excellent Product Design” category. The monolithic design with a clear design language and uniform color scheme in combination with the versatile areas of application in the private and commercial sector also gives the air source heat pump HPA-O the winner title.
With the gold award, the SHP-I Plus hot water heat pump has secured the highest possible award. “The SHP-I Plus integrates easily into existing energy systems and also uses an environmentally friendly refrigerant, which makes it particularly sustainable and versatile,” said the jury. The appliance combines environmentally friendly water heating, high efficiency and simple operation in an aesthetic design that fits into any installation room thanks to its slimline construction.

The elegant design of the LWZ integral ventilation unit from Stiebel Eltron conceals the building services functions of heating, cooling, hot water preparation and ventilation. The appliance has now been honored with the German Design Award.
