Stiebel Eltron establishes sales company in South Africa
Official inauguration in Sandton
The German heat technology company Stiebel Eltron has established a sales company in South Africa. Now the new premises in Sandton in the north of Johannesburg have been officially inaugurated with customers, employees, partners and representatives from politics. German ambassador Dr Martin Schäfer was also present and congratulated Stiebel Eltron on the decision to invest in South Africa.
“The foundation of ֹ‘Stiebel Eltron Southern Africa Limited’ in this emerging region is an important step for the further internationalisation of the Group”, says Managing Director Dr Nicholas Matten. “Up to now, we have been represented locally by a partner acting in our name. We have closely monitored the country in recent years and have seen a very positive development. This is why we decided to take over the business from our partner”, Matten explains. The sales company will initially have six employees. In future the new company will also directly serve the neighbouring countries of Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mozambique.
“We expect South Africa's economy to develop very well with particularly strong growth in the field of systems technology – especially in the market for air-water heat pumps, which are generally responsible for hot water heating”, Matten says. In addition to the renewable energy segment, Stiebel Eltron is planning further growth in South Africa in the field of conventional HVACR units: “We are already quite successful, mainly with single-phase instantaneous water heaters and convector heating systems, but we expect a significant increase in sales figures here as well. In addition, more convenient three-phase instantaneous water heaters are becoming increasingly popular.”
